The evolving designs to transform Royal Victoria Place into a more vibrant, mixed-use destination include:
A boutique cinema and new leisure spaces at Ely Court
A repurposed Palm Court with enhanced retail and community leisure space
New homes on Market Square
A dedicated design team has been appointed and is working closely with the TWBC to develop proposals for a planning application, which is scheduled for submission Easter 2026. Subject to planning consent, construction is expected to begin in early 2027.
The Council is committed to ongoing engagement throughout the design process. Further engagement will take place before the planning application is submitted, followed by formal consultation during the planning process.
