An exciting engagement initiative launches today to shape the future of Royal Victoria Place (RVP).
Since Tunbridge Wells Borough Council purchased the centre in October 2023, there’s been a growing opportunity to reimagine what RVP could be for the people who live, work, and visit Royal Tunbridge Wells. Parts of the shopping centre are vacant, such as the food court. Or, like Ely Court and Market Square, they are no longer suitable for modern retailer and consumer needs and are ready for something new.
But the vision for RVP’s future isn’t just about retail – it’s about community and creating new town centre living and reasons to visit RVP and the surrounding areas at the top of town at different times of the day. The engagement initiative forms part of a wider review of the centre which seeks to determine how this central space can better reflect local needs, support the economy, and attract new visitors.
